We’re proud to announce that the Edwin M. Griffin Preserve is now a certified pollinator habitat thanks to a new program by USC Upstate and KeepOneSpartanburgBeautiful! The recently launched pollinator habitat certification program is for local individuals, businesses, schools, and other organizations to spotlight efforts being made towards creating pollinator-friendly habitats, both big and small! Some of the things we’ve done to make this space pollinator-friendly include. cultivating a variety of native plant species, removing invasives like privet, kudzu, and ivy, providing sources of shelter and water for pollinators, and planting host plants like milkweed.
