Sustainable Events Initiative
SPACE hosts a multitude of events throughout the year. As an organization focused on land conservation and environmental protection, we’ve launched an initiative to focus on sustainability efforts during our fundraisers and small events. With help from local composting company, SMART Recycling, we’re making composting a priority at our events. Thanks to local artists Frankie Zombie and Maggie MacDonald, you won’t miss the compost cans at these events! Want to help make our events more sustainable? Share a ride and bring your own non-glass tumblers with you. Working together we can make an impact!
Building Community
We envision a Spartanburg community with natural resources and open spaces that are shared and enjoyed by people and wildlife today and for generations to come.
Conserving Land
We work with private landowners and partner agencies to conserve land through voluntary conservation easements and currently protect over 5,000 acres in our community.
Providing Access
We work to provide access to green spaces for both people and wildlife. Our protected properties include watershed protection, wetlands, farms, forests, geological formations, and natural habitats.
